Vermouth Tops “Most Lovable Villain” Ranking by Comic Cmoa, Naraku and Envy Follow in Top 3

Vermouth from Detective Conan has claimed the No.1 spot in the “Most Lovable Villain (JP: 最も推せる悪役,)” ranking announced by Comic Cmoa on the 12th. Based on responses from 6,077 users, the survey highlights antagonists who have captured fans’ hearts despite their villainous roles.

In Japan, there is a cultural concept known as oshi (JP: 推し), a term originally used in the idol scene to refer to one’s favorite member. Today, it is widely used across various fields to describe a person or character one especially supports or admires, including actors, athletes, anime characters, and more.


Vermouth Ranked No.1 in “Most Lovable Villain” Survey

This time, Comic Cmoa focused on the unique appeal of villains and conducted a survey titled the “Most Lovable Villain” Character Ranking. While many popular manga series are known for their striking antagonists, the results revealed that Vermouth from Detective Conan, published by Shogakukan, secured a commanding first place with 2,805 votes.

Naraku from Inuyasha ranked second with 1,513 votes, while Envy from Fullmetal Alchemist, published by Square Enix, placed third with 1,073 votes.

According to Comic Cmoa, the results show that nationally beloved hit series known across generations dominated the top rankings. The strong storytelling and the presence of unforgettable villains have continued to earn lasting support over the years.

Many users praised Vermouth with comments such as, “She is strong and cool. I love that she is not just evil,” and “Although she is a villain, the way she becomes fond of the protagonist and heroine, sometimes helping or provoking them, makes her incredibly appealing.”
