The strategy set in motion by Mikado launches a sudden assault on Yuki, who had grown complacent.

Yuki attempts to steel herself, but her comrades are wiped out. Captured at last, Yuki is brought face-to-face with Mikado.

“The fortieth time” for Mikado and “the thirtieth time” for Yuki. The two women meet again.
