What Is Kagurabachi

Kagurabachi is a Japanese sword battle action series centered on Chihiro, a young boy who aspires to become a swordsmith. Raised by his father, a skilled swordsmith, Chihiro devoted himself to daily training and believed their joyful days together would last forever. However, tragedy strikes when his father is killed, and Chihiro sets out on a path of revenge against those responsible. Fueled by hatred and unwavering resolve, he carries the flame of determination in his heart as the story unfolds.

1. Prologue

Chihiro Rokuhira

Chihiro Rokuhira (JP: 六平千鉱) is the central figure of Kagurabachi, a quiet young man bound by revenge and destiny. A taciturn boy, he sets out on a journey to avenge his father, who was driven to his death by Hishaku, and to reclaim the six Enchanted Blades that were stolen. He is the contractor of Enten, one of the Enchanted Blades that Kunishige protected with his life.

Kunishige Rokuhira

Kunishige Rokuhira (JP: 六平国重) is Chihiro’s father and a master swordsmith of unparalleled skill.

He gently watched over his son’s growth. As the only swordsmith capable of forging Enchanted Blades imbued with immense power, he created blades that are said to have brought an end to the Seitei War in the past. Three years ago, he lost his life during an attack by Hishaku.

Togo Shiba

Togo Shiba (JP: 柴登吾) is a veteran sorcerer with a long standing relationship with the Rokuhira family.

After Kunishige’s death, he lends his strength to Chihiro’s quest for revenge. Though he has an easygoing personality, his true abilities are immeasurable. He formerly belonged to Kamunabi, the national sorcerer organization. Following Kunishige’s passing, he works alongside Chihiro to investigate the whereabouts of the Enchanted Blades and gather information on Hishaku.

Vs. Sojo Arc

Hinao

Hinao (JP: ヒナオ) is a supporting character in Kagurabachi who works as an intermediary between clients seeking the power of sorcery and sorcerers at Cafe Haru Haru.

At Shiba’s request, she assists Chihiro Rokuhira in gathering the Enchanted Blades. She takes Char Kyonagi into protective custody and brings her together with Chihiro and his allies.

Char Kyonagi

Char Kyonagi (JP: 鏡凪シャル) is a bright and kind hearted girl who was being pursued by Genichi Sojo and his associates for certain reasons.

After telling Hinao that she possessed the strongest blade when asked about her pursuers, she encounters Chihiro and his group. She is a surviving member of the Kyonagi clan, known for their astonishing regenerative abilities. Even if her body is cut or her bones are broken, her wounds heal almost instantly due to her unique constitution.

Norisaku Madoka

Norisaku Madoka (JP: 円法炸), also known by the alias Daruma, is a sorcerer who appears in order to capture Char.

He creates explosive Daruma dolls and uses them to detonate and eliminate his targets, earning him the nickname Daruma for his destructive combat style.

Genichi Sojo

Genichi Sojo (JP: 双城厳一) is the contractor of Cloud Gouger, one of the stolen Enchanted Blades.

Soshiro Azami (JP: 薊奏士郎) is a sorcerer affiliated with Kamunabi.

He is one of the few individuals aware of Chihiro’s existence, which had been kept hidden from the public. Possessing overwhelming physical strength capable of crushing his opponents, he stands out even among Kamunabi’s elite. He also has a playful side, sometimes only realizing after a battle has ended that he injured his own hand during the fight.

Ikuto Hagiwara

Ikuto Hagiwara (JP: 萩原幾兎) is the captain of Kamunabi’s Anti Cloud Gouger Special Forces, assembled to defeat Genichi Sojo and the Enchanted Blade Cloud Gouger in Kagurabachi.

Recognizing Chihiro Rokuhira, who protected civilians, as a truly passionate and righteous man, he joins forces with him to challenge Sojo.
