Scum of the Brave Episode 8 Story & Preview Cuts Released

The story and preview images for Episode 8 of the TV anime Scum of the Brave (JP: 勇者のクズ) have been revealed. This episode is scheduled to air on Sunday, March 1 at 12:55 AM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms.

Episode 8 Story

The Heroes are shaken by the death of Ishinō. The badge bearing the “Broken Dragon’s Face” that Ido and Levi wore turns out to belong to the mysterious organization Half-Dragon, which seeks to incite conflict among Demon Kings.

In search of clues behind the mastermind responsible for Ishinō’s murder, “Shinigami” Yashiro heads to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s Demon King Disaster Countermeasures Office. There, he learns that a massive bounty has been placed on the son of a certain politician.

That son turns out to be a subordinate of Lord “Wedge of Both Hands,” whom Yashiro fought several months earlier.

Introduction

“Being a hero is a job for the lowest kind of scum.”

In the mid-21st century, Tokyo’s criminal underworld is ruled by mafias who have become “Demon Kings” through ether (magical power) enhancement surgery. The bounty hunters who take down these Demon Kings are known as “heroes.”

Heroes enhance their ether abilities with a drug called E3 in order to stand against the Demon Kings. Killing is legalized for them, turning the role of a hero into a profession that is, quite literally, one of murder.

Amid this, a self-proclaimed “disciple” suddenly shows up at the door of Yashiro, a freelance hero known as the “Grim Reaper.” She is Jōgamine, a high school girl training to become a hero. Though reluctant, Yashiro takes her in, only to find himself dragged into a series of thoroughly rotten incidents.

A scum-of-the-earth “mentor” and a self-proclaimed “disciple”—
