Statement Regarding Media Reports

Media reports have pointed to the involvement of publishers concerning sexual misconduct by a manga artist and the response to it. While we understand the facts of this case have not yet been fully clarified, we recognize this as a critical issue affecting the trust in our industry.

This matter is a challenge for the entire manga industry.

We urge the relevant publishers to conduct transparent investigations with full consideration for the dignity and safety of the victims, to publicly disclose the results and measures to prevent recurrence, and to provide appropriate consideration to manga artists who may feel uneasy about their ongoing serializations or contracts.
