Cyborg 009: Nemesis Set for Summer 2026 Streaming, Teaser Visual Reveals New Character Graviton Voiced by Yuichi Nakamura

The new anime Cyborg 009: Nemesis has revealed its teaser visual, confirming a summer 2026 streaming release. It was also announced that the new character Graviton will be voiced by Yuichi Nakamura.

The teaser visual features the striking catchphrase “I am 009( JP: 俺が、009 だ, Ore ga 009 da).” alongside the bold words “Generation Shift.” At the center stands a new “009,” Graviton, spreading his arms as if asserting his power, radiating a cold and overwhelming presence. Behind him, silhouettes suggest the group known as Nemesis, which he appears to lead. The heavy atmosphere raises questions about what lies ahead in the direction of his gaze.

Yuichi Nakamura, who voices Graviton, described the story as “very human and fascinating despite featuring cyborgs.” Regarding the character, he explained that Graviton is “cold and highly ideological,” with a sharp mindset that does not hesitate to use any means necessary to achieve his goals. While positioned as an antagonist, Nakamura noted that the character does not act out of pleasure, emphasizing the importance of portraying that nuance. He also encouraged audiences unfamiliar with the original Cyborg 009 to watch the series, highlighting its subtle sense of transience and emotional depth.

It was also announced that the opening theme song “Ta ga Tame ni,” performed by rock singer Kyoko of BARBEE BOYS, will be released digitally. Written by original creator Shotaro Ishinomori, the song is known as the opening theme of the 1979 Cyborg 009 television anime. Its lyrics express the fate, sorrow, and determination of the cyborg warriors.

Cyborg 009 follows nine cyborg warriors gathered from around the world and transformed into weapons of war. Each carries their own struggles and sorrow, yet they unite to fight evil for the sake of world peace. The original manga began serialization in 1964 in Weekly Shonen King and has since been adapted into multiple anime series.
