The Vermilion Mask anime has been officially announced to premiere in October as a split two cour series. It will air every Saturday at 5:30 PM on the nationwide Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV network, except in some regions. Alongside the announcement, a key visual and teaser promotional video have been released.

The Vermilion Mask is based on the manga of the same name, currently serialized in Young King OURs by Nabana Naba, with original story by Dr. Poro. The series is a mask battle fantasy that follows young boys confronting powerful enemies, regret, and harsh destinies.

The protagonist Peru is an apprentice to a legendary mask craftsman. After being manipulated by a powerful mask, he unintentionally kills his comrades and mentor. Determined to prevent such tragedy from ever happening again, he embarks on a journey to destroy the masks created by his master that are scattered across the world. Along the way, he meets trustworthy allies and faces fierce battles against overwhelming foes.
