The main trailer and third key visual for The Irregular at Magic High School Movie Yotsuba Succession Arc, set to release on May 8, have been revealed. The theme song has been confirmed as “YES,” a new track by LiSA. This marks her third collaboration with the series following “Rising Hope” from Season 1 and “Shouted Serenade” from Season 3.

The Irregular at Magic High School is set in a world where magic has become a fully established technology. The story follows a brother and sister attending a magic high school, along with their companions, as they navigate turbulent daily lives.

The franchise has expanded across multiple media, including TV anime, theatrical films, manga, and games. It celebrated its 10th anniversary in July 2021. The original novel series by Tsutomu Sato, with illustrations by Kana Ishida, has surpassed a total of 25 million copies in circulation, including 14 million from the novel series alone. The TV anime first aired in 2014, followed by the spin off anime The Honor Student at Magic High School in 2021.

Synopsis of the Yotsuba Succession Arc

The year is 2096, about a century after magic became a real world technology. As winter of their second year in high school approaches, siblings Tatsuya and Miyuki continue their lives together.

Tatsuya was born with a fatal flaw as a magician, while Miyuki possesses extraordinary talent along with perfect beauty and intelligence. Despite their contrasting positions as an irregular and an honor student, they have lived harmoniously as siblings.

However, everything changes when they receive a letter. It is an invitation to the New Year gathering known as the Keishunkai, hosted by the Yotsuba main family. At this gathering, where the heads of the Yotsuba family branches assemble, the next head of the Yotsuba family will be appointed.

There, a shocking truth is revealed. After nine years, the pivotal Yotsuba Succession Arc finally uncovers the true relationship between Tatsuya and Miyuki.

This is my third time singing for the series. Together with all of you, we have witnessed and held onto the messages of this story, and now we move beyond that point.
