Drops of God Episode 1 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Kazuya Kamenashi Makes Voice Acting Debut with Behind-the-Scenes Footage
The story and preview images for Episode 1 of the TV anime Drops of God (JP: 神の雫) have been revealed ahead of its broadcast and streaming premiere on April 10. Additionally, a making-of video featuring Kazuya Kamenashi during his voice recording sessions has been released.

The series follows the intense and sophisticated battle over the "Twelve Apostles"—twelve great wines selected in the will of the world-renowned wine critic Yutaka Kanzaki—and the ultimate phantom wine that stands at their peak, known as the "Drops of God." The conflict unfolds between Yutaka’s biological son, Shizuku Kanzaki (voiced by Kazuya Kamenashi), and Issei Tomine, a young, charismatic wine critic who was adopted by Yutaka.

In the interview segment, Kazuya Kamenashi discusses the challenges of his first-ever voice acting role and his determination to portray a character he previously played in the live-action adaptation once again in animated form. The world-renowned wine critic Yutaka Kanzaki has passed away, leaving behind a legendary wine collection valued at over 12 billion yen. According to his will, his entire estate will be bequeathed to whoever can correctly identify—including the specific vintage—the twelve greatest wines he selected, known as the "Twelve Apostles," as well as the ultimate phantom wine that stands at the pinnacle: "The Drops of God."
Two men rise to meet this grand challenge: Shizuku Kanzaki, Yutaka’s biological son, who rebelled against his father despite receiving a world-class education in wine and has never actually tasted it; and Issei Tomine, a brilliant and charismatic young wine critic who was officially adopted by Yutaka.
