Episode 1 Story

Maki Maehara, a shy and socially withdrawn student, fails his self-introduction on the very first day of school. He watches the interactions between Yu Amami and Umi Asanagi, who completed their introductions in stark contrast to his own, as if they belong to a completely different world. Maki spends the first semester without making any friends. However, one day at a video rental store, he is handed a "true self-introduction card" by Umi, who is rumored to be the "second prettiest girl in class." The card reveals her actual interests, such as watching B-movies, which happens to be the same hobby as Maki.
