Shaman King Creator Hiroyuki Takei’s New Horror Manga “JURO” Releases April 28: Supernatural Battles in a World Where Spirits Are Scientifically Proven

Shogakukan announced that three horror manga titles from the new magazine CoroChao, a collaboration between CoroCoro Comic and Ciao, will be released as compiled volumes on April 28. The lineup includes JURO, the latest work by Shaman King creator Hiroyuki Takei, Kill Rate Chaos by Sesuji making his manga story debut, and Yukai Shojo (JP: 幽拐少女), a full scale horror work based on an original concept by Daiyonkyokai.

JURO Synopsis

Set in the year 2046, the existence of spirits has finally been scientifically proven. Across the world, mysterious large scale supernatural disasters known as Hyakki Yako occur. Humanity has entered an era where spirits can be perceived.

The protagonist Shunsaku rides the ultimate machine JURO, a talisman powered motorcycle designed to exterminate spirits. Armed with steel machinery and occult power, he confronts the Hyakki Yako. This is a passionate new work by Hiroyuki Takei that embodies pure action and ambition. A new era of cyber occult battle action begins.

Kill Rate Chaos Synopsis

Senaka, author of About a Place in the Kinki Region, makes his first attempt at a manga story. Featuring a powerful team including world renowned illustrator TERU of REDTAIL and Fujiko of Kirei Sekai, this is a next generation horror battle story.

Yamato, Ryohei, and Yuji are boys who love gaming. While playing the online game Monster Night, they encounter a mysterious girl named Cosmos. After this meeting, strange abnormalities begin to appear in Yamato’s daily life. It marks the beginning of a terrifying adventure.

Yukai Shojo Synopsis

Tsumugi Tachibana, a girl who can see ghosts, finds herself trapped somewhere almost every day. A phone booth, a rabbit hutch, and more.
Only you can help her. You are the only one who can reach her now.

Created by ARG creator group Daiyonkyokai, known for immersive experiences such as The Human Wallet and The Mirror Rehabilitation Facility, and popular Ciao manga artist Chikako Mori, this is one of the most talked about horror manga works today.

In addition to the standard bad ending, the comics include a true ending that can only be unlocked by clearing the game, along with bonus content available exclusively to readers who purchase the volumes.
