New Footage Reveals Frieza’s Return
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus reimagines the original Dragon Ball Super series, which aired from 2015 to 2018. The project includes extensive newly added scenes, redrawn cuts, and a full reconstruction of the story, produced as an enhanced edition. The visuals, sound design, and composition have been updated using the latest animation techniques, delivering more immersive battle scenes and a more faithful representation of the original work.

The story takes place several years after the intense battle against Majin Buu, during a brief period of peace on Earth. At the same time, Beerus, the God of Destruction, awakens from a long slumber. Even the Kais and Supreme Kais observe his awakening with fear due to his overwhelming power capable of destroying entire planets. After hearing rumors of a Saiyan who defeated Frieza, Beerus suddenly appears before Goku. As Earth faces the threat of destruction, a universe shaking battle between the God of Destruction and Goku and his allies begins.

The latest footage, unveiled at the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 event in Los Angeles, showcases a fierce clash between Son Goku and Beerus. The large scale, universe spanning battles are depicted with upgraded visual expression unique to this enhanced edition, delivering powerful and immersive action sequences. In the final moments of the video, Frieza is seen awaiting his return, hinting at a new formidable enemy standing in Goku’s path.

During the stage presentation, a video message from Masako Nozawa, the voice of Son Goku, was also shown. She commented on the intensity of the battle between Goku and Beerus, expressing how impressive it looked and noting Frieza’s appearance at the end. She also shared her excitement for the enhanced depiction of the upcoming battle between Goku and Frieza, which drew loud cheers from the audience.
