Super Mario Galaxy Movie Surpasses $700 Million Worldwide Box Office Ahead of Japan Release

The worldwide box office revenue for the new animated film The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, based on Nintendo’s popular Super Mario series, has officially been announced. The film has earned a total of $747,477,060, surpassing the $700 million milestone and becoming a record breaking hit.

Although the film has yet to open in Japan, where it is scheduled for release on April 24, it has already achieved tremendous success across the globe. Even in its third week at the box office, the momentum remains strong.

In North America, the film earned $35 million over the weekend of April 17 to 19, bringing its cumulative total to $355,247,060. This continues to set new records among films released in 2026. International markets have also performed strongly, with total earnings reaching $392,230,000, approaching the $400 million mark.
