Mayu Shinjo Reveals Missing Manuscript Page From Popular Haou Airen Scene: “Has Anyone Seen This Character Anywhere?”

Manga creator Mayu Shinjo revealed that part of the original manuscript for her popular manga Haou Airen has gone missing, prompting her to ask fans and related companies for help locating the page.

On August 14, Shinjo updated her X account and explained that she has been unable to find the original artwork for a well known scene featuring the “world’s greatest assassin” from Haou Airen.

The issue began after Shinjo shared a newly released sticky note memo set on August 13 that used a famous scene from the manga. She jokingly wrote that although she created the item herself, she was surprised that it had become such a strong seller.

Fans then requested merchandise featuring another memorable scene involving the assassin character described as the “world’s greatest assassin.”

Responding to the request, Shinjo revealed that the original manuscript page for that scene could not be found.

“I am about to say something shocking,” she wrote before confessing, “I truly cannot find the manuscript page for this scene anywhere.”

She then appealed to publishers and related parties, asking:

“Using this opportunity, I would like to ask everyone involved. Has anyone seen this character somewhere? Or perhaps there is a company thinking, ‘Ah! We forgot to return the manuscript!’”

Shinjo also explained that the page had frequently been used because the character was especially popular.
