LIAR GAME Episode 8 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Nao is Forced to Participate in the Loser Resurrection Game, the Restructuring Game

The story and preview images for Episode 8 of the TV anime LIAR GAME (JP: ライアーゲーム) have been revealed. This episode will air on Tuesday, May 16, 2026, at 12:00 AM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms.

Episode 8 Story

Nao and the other participants are gathered at an abandoned bowling alley for the revival round, also known as the Loser Resurrection Game. Leronira announces the rules of the new game, the Restructuring Game. Through a series of ten voting rounds, one out of the nine participants will be restructured, meaning they become the sole loser, while the remaining eight advance to Round 3. It is a ruthless battle where the loser will once again be burdened with a 100 million yen debt. However, for some reason, the participants appear calm, and Nao feels an unsettling atmosphere in the room. Most of the participants seem to believe that the loser has already been decided. In the midst of this, Fukunaga proposes holding an appeal time for each person to kill time until the vote. During this time, Fukunaga exposes to everyone that Nao walked away with a massive amount of money from the previous game. Nao is bewildered by the cold stares from those around her, but Fukunaga tells her that this situation is actually part of a strategy for the two of them to win together.
