Gachiakuta Stage Play Performance Canceled After Lead Actor Hikaru Imamaki Injures Leg During Show

The stage adaptation of the manga Gachiakuta was performed on the 26th at Stellar Ball in Tokyo’s Shinagawa Prince Hotel. However, the production later announced on its official website that the performance had been canceled after lead actor Hikaru Imamaki, who plays protagonist Rudo Surebrec, suffered a leg injury during the show.

According to the official statement:

“Regarding Hikaru Imamaki, who appears in GACHIAKUTA the Stage as Rudo Surebrec, he sustained a leg injury during today’s 6:30 p.m. performance on May 26, forcing us to cancel the show.”

The statement continued with an apology to attendees:

“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and concern caused to customers who attended the performance. Information regarding performances from tomorrow onward, as well as ticket refunds for today’s show, will be announced separately on the official website and official X (formerly Twitter) account. We once again deeply apologize for the inconvenience and concern caused.”

Overview of Gachiakuta

Gachiakuta is a battle action manga centered on Rudo, an orphan boy born in a slum inhabited by the descendants of criminals. The series began serialization in Weekly Shonen Magazine published by Kodansha in February 2022.

A television anime adaptation produced by Bones Film is scheduled to air and stream starting in July 2025, running for two consecutive cours, with production of a second season already announced.
