Goodbye, Lara Episode 2 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Lara Reunites with the Witch on the Surface

The story and preview images for Episode 2 of the TV anime Goodbye, Lara (JP: さよならララ) have been revealed. This episode will air on Monday, July 13 at 12:30 AM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms.

Episode 2 Story

Lara, who has been resurrected in Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture, reunites with the witch on the surface.
The witch tells her that in order to save her family, she must form a bond of "true love" with a human.
However, Lara finds herself completely overwhelmed by her first experience in Shiga.

Introduction

Once upon a time, there was a mermaid princess named Lara. Loved by her father, the king of the sea, and her older sisters, she grew up happy and carefree.

One day, Lara fell in love with a human prince living on the surface. In the world of mermaids, this was an unallowable, forbidden love. Despite this, Lara departed for the surface. She drank a potion obtained from the witch Grace and assumed human form. However, it was a taboo potion that would cause her to dissolve into foam and vanish unless she found "true love."

Though she was a mermaid princess, Lara desired love with a human. Yet———that wish was not granted, and she dissolved into foam, vanishing into the sea.

200 years have passed since then. After a long stretch of time, the mermaid princess Lara is resurrected in Lake Biwa. This time, it is to find "true love" for sure———
