The story and preview images for Episode 3 of the TV anime THE GHOST IN THE SHELL have been revealed. This episode will air on Tuesday, July 21 at 11:00 PM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms.

Episode 3 Story

Following a fierce pursuit by the Fuchikoma, Kusanagi and Togusa successfully apprehend the suspect. Meanwhile, as Aramaki and Batou keep watch, the "Puppet Master," a mysterious hacker suspected of being the one who planted the virus, makes an appearance before Colonel Malres.

Introduction

The year is 2029. Although the corporate networks span the stars and electrons and light race across the globe, the near-future Japan has not yet become so completely information-driven that nations and ethnicities have vanished.

Motoko Kusanagi, a full-body prosthesis cyborg, was commanding an elite unit including Batou while desiring the establishment of a specialized task force aimed at preventing crimes before they happen. Daisuke Aramaki of the Ministry of Home Affairs, who had been envisioning a similar unit, scouts Kusanagi and her team. Kusanagi and her comrades begin their operations as Public Security Section 9—an offensive organization known as the "Ghost in the Shell."

As they confront cybercrimes swirling with international conspiracies, the existence of an unidentified hacker known as the "Puppet Master" emerges on the radar of a certain investigation. What destiny awaits Kusanagi——and what is the Puppet Master's true objective? A new era of cyberpunk action begins——!!
