Voice Actors Yuma Uchida and Rina Hidaka Announce Birth of First Child, a Baby Girl: “Both Mother and Baby Are Healthy”

Voice actor Rina Hidaka, 32, updated her official X account on July 19 to announce that she had given birth to her first child, a baby girl. Her husband, fellow voice actor Yuma Uchida, 33, also shared the news on his X account.

The couple posted a joint statement on their respective accounts.

“To everyone who always supports us,
We recently welcomed our first child, a baby girl, into our family. Both mother and baby are healthy, and we are very happy to have safely welcomed a new member of our family.”

They continued:

“So many people supported us throughout the journey leading up to the birth. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who warmly watched over us.
As a family, we hope to support one another and spend each day in our own way, surrounded by smiles. We will continue to cherish every opportunity we receive and work even harder, and we sincerely appreciate your continued support.”

Hidaka is a popular voice actor known for roles including Laura and Cure La Mer in Tropical Rouge! Pretty Cure, Ai Hinatsuru in The Ryuo’s Work Is Never Done!, Milim in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, and Silica in Sword Art Online.

During her time as a child actor, she appeared on the popular Japanese television program Appare Sanma Dai Sensei. She drew attention in June 2021 when she reunited with Akashiya Sanma for the first time in approximately 18 years during a special program.

Uchida made his voice acting debut in 2012 and has since appeared in numerous productions. He is known for roles including Megumi Fushiguro in JUJUTSU KAISEN, Kyo Sohma in Fruits Basket, Kaoru Sakuraba in The Idolmaster SideM, Yuma Kousaka in Gundam Build Fighters Try, and Takumi Shinada in Delicious Party Pretty Cure.

Uchida and Hidaka announced their marriage on January 1, 2024.
