Introduction

Sasaki is a worn-out, middle-aged businessman driving himself straight down the corporate slave highway. His only quiet sources of comfort in life are his favorite cigarettes and the cheerful customer service he gets from Yamada, a female cashier at his local supermarket.

One night, completely exhausted from work, he heads to the supermarket in search of that comfort, only to find that Yamada isn't on shift. To make matters worse, there isn't a smoking area in sight...

As a dejected Sasaki stands there, a young woman named Tayama calls out to him, saying, "You can smoke here—."
