Masakazu Katsura Sparks Online Buzz With Tanned Butt Illustration: “The Way the Light Hits the Skin Really Got Me”

Masakazu Katsura, the manga artist behind Video Girl Ai, I"s, and Wing Man, updated his X account by August 12. His recent streak of posting butt illustrations every day has been drawing surprised reactions online. The official English editions of Video Girl Ai and I"s credit Katsura as their creator.

Masakazu Katsura Shares an Illustration Titled “Shade”

Katsura, who has been posting illustrations of buttocks and underwear since last month, introduced his latest piece simply as “Shade.”

The illustration depicts light blue underwear and tanned skin.

Fans responded with comments such as, “The way the light hits the skin really got me,” “This is great! Really great,” and “I want to see the full picture.”

About Masakazu Katsura

Masakazu Katsura was born in 1962. In 1980, his work Tsubasa received an honorable mention in the 19th Tezuka Award. He made his professional debut in 1981 with Tenkosei wa Hensosei!? in Weekly Shonen Jump.

He went on to create numerous hit manga, including Video Girl Ai, I"s, and ZETMAN.

Katsura has also worked outside manga, including serving as the original character concept and hero designer for the anime TIGER & BUNNY. The series’ official website credits him for character concept and hero design.
