Weekly Shonen Magazine Unveils Its Largest and Highest Unit Cost Peel Off Ad Ever for Yaergnacht of The Dark Moon With Life Size Cloth Giveaway

On August 19, the Weekly Shonen Magazine editorial department unveiled a large advertisement for the ongoing manga Yaergnacht of The Dark Moon (JP: 黒月のイェルクナハト,Kurotsuki no Yaergnacht
)at the Shinjuku Station Promenade. The campaign features a life size, silky smooth cloth depicting the character Yaergnacht, which is being distributed free to the first 32 people. The cloth marks both the largest size and the highest unit cost in the history of Weekly Shonen Magazine peel off advertisements.

Sized to match the full height of the heroine Yaergnacht, the cloth is large enough for a woman to wrap herself completely in it. Measuring 170 centimeters by 120 centimeters, particular attention was also paid to its texture.

Asked about the key features of the cloth, the Kodansha sales department advertising representative who planned the campaign and previously spent many years working for a well known apparel company explained, “It has a fine nap similar to genuine suede and a soft, supple texture. It is highly durable and resistant to wrinkles, making it suitable for carrying to events or displaying for long periods. The cost per piece is actually fairly substantial too, though that is confidential.”

Yaergnacht of The Dark Moon, currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine, follows Shinogi Inumat, an 18 year old with no job, no dreams, and no motivation to live. One day, on his way home from a job interview, he encounters a beautiful woman who appears to be an evil spirit, Yaergnacht Finsternis.

She gives him two choices: marry her or die on the spot. Shinogi must prevail in battles against the agents of God who are enemies of humanity and become a savior alongside his new wife. The series is a battle fantasy centered on Shinogi being overwhelmingly adored by a powerful kuudere beauty.
