Rudeus Resolves to Fight Orsted Following the Cour 1 Finale

It has been officially announced that the second cour of the Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3 television anime will premiere in 2027. To accompany the announcement, a brand-new teaser video was released, showcasing intense graphics of the Dragon God Orsted paired with newly recorded voice lines by his voice actor, Kenjiro Tsuda.

In the Cour 1 finale (Episode 14, "Resolve"), Rudeus successfully follows the advice of his future self to prevent the events that would have triggered the death of his wife, Roxy. However, the Man-God (Hitogami)—the entity orchestrating Roxy's demise—appears before him. Desperate to protect his loved ones, Rudeus declares that he has no intention of opposing the Man-God and will do whatever it takes to keep his family safe. In response, the Man-God tasks Rudeus with assassinating the Dragon God Orsted, who is currently hunting the Man-God down. With his family's safety on the line, Rudeus resolves himself to fight the devastatingly powerful Orsted.

Cour 2 will center on this inevitable clash between Rudeus and Orsted—a highly anticipated arc that fans of the original light novel have been eagerly waiting to see animated. Building hype for the upcoming battle, the 2027 announcement teaser features dynamic motion graphics blending Orsted's key animation frames and visual effects. Overlaid is a commanding, brand-new line delivered by Tsuda: "Rudeus Greyrat... as long as you side with the Man-God, I will not let you escape."

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation is an epic fantasy following a 34-year-old shut-in who spends his days isolated in his room playing games and browsing the internet. When he perishes in a traffic accident, he expects it to be the end—only to be reincarnated as a baby in a world of swords and magic. Retaining the memories and profound regrets of his past life, he is reborn as Rudeus. Vowing to "live life to the fullest this time," Rudeus navigates new relationships, intense trials, and a grand adventure.

The television anime adaptation first premiered its first season in 2021, with Cour 1 airing from January to March and Cour 2 from October to December. Season 2 followed with its first half airing from July to September 2023, and its second half from April to June 2024. The first cour of the current Season 3 began its broadcast run in July of this year.
