Chiikawa The Movie Announces 6th Theater Bonus: Charm Mini-Figures Featuring Chiikawa & Hachiware, Usagi & Momonga

Box Office Surpasses 11.55 Million Attendees and 16.85 Billion Yen in 66 Days

The anime film Chiikawa The Movie: Secret of the Mermaid Island (released July 24) has surpassed 11.55 million attendees and 16.85 billion yen in box office revenue within 66 days of its release. It was also announced that a 6th theater audience bonus—charm mini-figures—will be distributed starting October 10. The figures will feature two designs (Chiikawa & Hachiware, Usagi & Momonga) distributed at random.

Released nationwide across 447 theaters (382 standard + 65 IMAX theaters), this is the first feature film for Chiikawa. It adapts the fan-favorite long-form "Siren Arc" written by original creator Nagano. The story follows Chiikawa and friends as they receive an invitation to a "special island" for a training camp. This long-awaited film adaptation of one of the series' most popular story arcs—which trended on social media with every new chapter—was fully supervised by Nagano.

On opening day, theaters nationwide were packed from early morning. TOHO Cinemas Ikebukuro hosted a record 41 screenings in a single day. Theaters focused heavily on Chiikawa The Movie as a flagship summer blockbuster, resulting in an opening-day box office revenue of 990 million yen. This surpassed the opening-day record of 960 million yen set by Detective Conan: The Million-dollar Pentagram (2024), which went on to earn a franchise-record 15.8 billion yen, marking a massive start.

The 6th bonus item marks the first time duo charm mini-figures are being introduced as theater giveaways. The mini-figures recreate iconic scenes from the film: Chiikawa & Hachiware raising spoons piled high with curry, and Usagi & Momonga pulling off a clever trick against the silent Siren. They will be distributed in limited quantities at theaters nationwide.

While previous theater bonuses up through the 5th installment began distribution on the Saturday following the announcement week, the 6th bonus follows a different release schedule.
