"Shangri-La Frontier" Season 2 Set for Continuous Two-Cour Broadcast Starting October, Reveals Video and New Cast Members Joji Nakata & Hiromu Mineta

The 2nd season of the TV anime "Shangri-La Frontier" (Shanfro) has been confirmed to air continuously for two cours starting in October on the MBS/TBS "Sunday 5 PM slot." Along with this announcement, a commemorative video and additional cast members have been revealed, with Joji Nakata voicing Kyoju and Hiromu Mineta taking on the role of Aramis.

The released visual features a festive scene with confetti flying around Arthur Pencilgon and Oicazzo, who playfully squeeze the face of Sunraku, who, despite being pranked, gives a thumbs-up. At the center, Sunraku is joined by Saiga-0, who blushes by his side, and Emul, who expresses joy with his entire upside-down body, creating a vibrant and celebratory image.

The video, like the visual, starts with the scene of the unique monster "Tomb Guardian Weathermon" being subdued, which was a highlight of the 1st season, accompanied by the text "Shanfro is not over!" This promises further exploration into the mysteries of the divine game "Shangri-La Frontier," the truth behind it, and the ongoing feud between Sunraku and the night raider Lycaon, building anticipation for the unfolding story. Additionally, the visual and cast for a new character introduced in episode 25 have been revealed. Joji Nakata portrays Kyoju, the leader of the Library Clan, a group aiming to unravel the mysteries of Shanfro, and Hiromu Mineta plays Aramis, the vice-captain of the Cat Fairy (Kett Shee) country "Catzelia's" Booted Musketeers. The story revolves around the unusual gamer Sunraku, who enjoys so-called "crappy games," as he takes on the divine game "Shangri-La Frontier," boasting 30 million players. The original manga, currently serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine," is a popular title that achieved a historic quadruple crown in reader surveys and has surpassed 7.5 million copies in circulation.
