"Magic Knight Rayearth" New Anime Production Announced After 27 Years, PV Released for the 30th Anniversary of the TV Broadcast
A new anime adaptation of the popular manga "Magic Knight Rayearth" has been confirmed. This new anime is being produced to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the 1994 TV anime broadcast and will be the first new anime since the 1997 OVA, marking a return after 27 years. Alongside this announcement, a visual and PV have been released.
The newly released visual for the anime adaptation features the three girls, Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Hououji, who were summoned as Magic Knights, gazing upon the fantastical world of Cephiro. Each holds their respective weapons, foreshadowing the beginning of their grand adventure and battles.
To commemorate the start of the new anime project, a PV has also been released. It features a special logo created for the 30th anniversary and opens with beautiful color illustrations from the original manga by CLAMP. The PV includes scenes from the 30-year-old "Magic Knight Rayearth" anime, showcasing the captivating expressions of the characters and the progression of the story, making it a must-see for fans.
"Magic Knight Rayearth" is a fantasy manga by CLAMP that was serialized in "Nakayoshi" from 1993 to 1995 and aired as a TV anime from 1994 to 1995. The theme song "Yuzurenai Negai" by Naomi Tamura sold over one million copies.
The story revolves around three second-year junior high school girls, Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Hououji. During a field trip to Tokyo Tower, they are suddenly summoned by Princess Emeraude to the world of Cephiro. The three girls become the legendary "Magic Knights" to save the imprisoned princess, embarking on an adventure that captivates with its rich world-building and thought-provoking narrative about justice, love, and the nature of good and evil.
