Evangelion Takes Over North America! “EVANGELION WIND SYMPHONY 2025” Makes Its North American Debut

A legendary anime celebrated with symphonic power, Evangelion conquers North America with unforgettable live performances.

First broadcast in 1995, Neon Genesis Evangelion became a social phenomenon and a milestone in anime history. It later returned in 2007 as the Rebuild of Evangelion film series, directed and written by Hideaki Anno, achieving tremendous success and attracting a wide global fanbase. Known for its deep psychological themes, striking visuals, and unforgettable music, Evangelion has grown beyond borders into a worldwide phenomenon.

With countless collaborations and merchandise, the franchise remains a “legendary work” beloved by fans across generations. On October 4, 2025, Evangelion celebrates its 30th anniversary, and to mark this milestone, the first-ever North American EVANGELION WIND SYMPHONY 2025 concerts were held in Toronto, Dallas, and Los Angeles, thrilling nearly 10,000 fans in total. The grand finale took place at Hollywood’s iconic Dolby Theatre.

At the Los Angeles performance on August 30 (local time), over 3,300 passionate fans filled the venue to capacity. The concert featured orchestral renditions of Evangelion’s most iconic pieces, as well as live performances by Yoko Takahashi, who brought the audience to their feet with her powerful voice. The event opened with “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis” and “Tamashii no Refrain,” instantly pulling the audience into the world of Evangelion. Fans dressed in cosplay, long merchandise lines, and deafening cheers showed just how deeply the series continues to resonate.

Highlights included Takahashi’s stirring renditions of “TENSIONS,” “Rei I,” and the iconic ending theme “Fly Me to the Moon,” accompanied by dramatic visuals projected on the big screen. The orchestra delivered thrilling performances of “Angel Attack,” “EVA-01,” and the grand arrangement of “What if? 2022,” with Takahashi’s operatic voice amplifying the emotional depth of the pieces. Audience interactions, from “Rei or Asuka?” call-and-response sessions to Takahashi revealing her favorite character, Shinji Ikari, created an intimate atmosphere overflowing with fan devotion.

The concert culminated in a powerful encore of “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis,” arranged for wind orchestra, which brought the entire audience to a standing ovation. To close, Takahashi echoed Misato Katsuragi’s iconic line, “Service, service!”, before the orchestra launched into the “Next Episode Preview” music, ending the night with thunderous applause and emotional tears from fans. For many, it was not just a concert, but a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of the franchise that shaped their lives.

As Evangelion continues to expand globally, Japan will host the ultimate 30th anniversary event EVANGELION:30+; 30th ANNIVERSARY OF EVANGELION at Yokohama Arena in February 2026, further cementing its legacy as a cultural phenomenon that transcends borders.
