The original "Magic Knight Rayearth" manga by CLAMP was serialized in "Nakayoshi" from 1993 to 1995. The TV anime aired from 1994 to 1995, with the theme song "Yuzurenai Negai" by Naomi Tamura selling over a million copies.

The story follows three eighth-graders, Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Hououji, who are summoned to the fantasy world of Cephiro by Princess Emeraude while on a field trip to Tokyo Tower. To save the princess, who has been captured, they become the legendary "Magic Knights." The captivating world and the deep storyline, which explores themes of justice, love, and morality, have garnered significant popularity.

"Ranma 1/2" depicts the everyday life of high school student Ranma Saotome, who turns into a girl when splashed with water, and his fiancée Akane Tendo. It was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" from 1987 to 1996, with a TV anime airing from 1989 to 1992. The series also had movie and OVA adaptations and was turned into a live-action drama starring Yui Aragaki (as Akane) in 2011.

"YAIBA" follows the action-packed adventures of a wild samurai boy, Yaiba Kurogane, who, after training in the jungle, returns to Japan seeking further training and strength. Serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" from 1988 to 1993, the manga's 24 volumes have sold over 17 million copies. The TV anime aired from 1993 to 1994. The series is one of Gosho Aoyama's notable works, preceding the start of "Detective Conan" by about a month in 1994.

All these series were originally animated 30 years ago, and their revival announcements have spurred reactions online such as, "Is it really the Reiwa era?" and "Are they targeting anime fans in their late 30s?" Speculations abound with comments like, "At this rate, we might see new adaptations of 'Slayers' or 'Saber Marionette'," "This is nostalgic... there might be more coming," "Researching 1994 anime made me cry from nostalgia," and "Is there a new 'Tottemo! Luckyman' anime? With this momentum, a new 'Slayers' anime seems possible."
