[MHA] My Hero Academia Creator Reflects on Series Conclusion and Honoring Luffy’s Legacy
On the 8th, Kohei Horikoshi, the creator of the manga "My Hero Academia," updated his X (formerly Twitter) with a commemorative illustration and shared his thoughts on the completion of the series.
"My Hero Academia" concluded its 10-year run with the final chapter published in the double issue 36/37 of "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), released on the 5th. The series had started its serialization in July 2014.
On X, Horikoshi expressed his gratitude to the readers: "The manga 'My Hero Academia' has concluded in this week's issue of Jump! I've been exhausted for a long time, but I managed to make it to the end somehow! Thank you to everyone who read it!!!!!!"
He continued, "Competing alongside so many interesting manga in my beloved Jump, and above all, the honor and joy of having Deku stand next to Luffy, even if just for a moment, is something I'll never forget! I still get to draw Deku and his friends in the comics, the anime is ongoing, the movie is out, the game continues, and the spin-off manga is being serialized. With so many people keeping My Hero Academia alive through various events, it doesn't feel like it's over at all."
He concluded by saying, "Please continue to support My Hero Academia! Plus Ultra," and shared the illustration.
