The popular manga 'Jujutsu Kaisen' by Gege Akutami is set to conclude in the upcoming Weekly Shonen Jump issue #44, releasing on September 30. With just five chapters left, the series will end its 6.5-year run, which began in March 2018. Akutami commented, 'I am working hard to create a finale that (probably) satisfies as many readers as possible.'
Hints about the story’s conclusion were first revealed during the 'Jump Festa 2024' stage event held at the end of 2023, where Akutami mentioned, 'This is most likely the last Jump Festa with Jujutsu Kaisen still in serialization,' indicating that the story would conclude in 2024.
With the final chapter approaching, Akutami expressed, 'The story will end in five chapters. Being able to conclude it in the way I wanted is entirely thanks to the support and cooperation of our readers. Thank you!! I am working hard to create a finale that (probably) satisfies as many people who have supported Jujutsu Kaisen as possible. So, everyone!! Please forgive me!!' Additionally, a countdown to the final chapter has begun with 245 chapters now available for free on 'Shonen Jump+' and 'Zebrack' starting today, the 19th.
'Jujutsu Kaisen,' which started its serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2018, follows high school student Yuji Itadori as he enters a dark fantasy world of battles surrounding powerful cursed objects after unsealing one such artifact. The manga has surpassed 90 million copies in circulation. The TV anime aired from October 2020 to March 2021, gaining widespread popularity, followed by a theatrical release in December 2021.
