The second visual for the new project "Maomao and Jinshi's Seasonal Journeys" from the TV anime The Apothecary Diaries has been unveiled.

Each month on the 22nd, a new visual will be released, and the theme for August's second visual is sunflowers in summer. The visual features Xiaolan smiling at Maomao while holding a sunflower under a clear summer sky. Maomao, narrowing her eyes as if blinded by the bright light, returns the smile. The scene is brought to life with sunflowers in full bloom, reaching towards the bright summer sun, capturing the radiant essence of a summer's day.

The story, set in medieval Eastern Asia, follows a young poison tester who solves various difficult cases within the imperial court, blending mystery and entertainment in a popular palace intrigue series. Originally published on the novel posting site Shōsetsuka ni Narō in October 2011, the novel was later published by Hero Bunko.

The series has also been serialized in Monthly Big Gangan and Monthly Sunday GX and has sold over 33 million copies in total. The first season of the anime aired from October 2023 to March 2024, and the production of a second season has already been confirmed.
