The manga With You and the Rain has been confirmed for a TV anime adaptation, set to air in 2025. Alongside the announcement, a commemorative illustration and comment from the original creator, Kou Nikaidou, were also revealed.

With You and the Rain has been serialized in Weekly Young Magazine (Kodansha) since August 2020 and tells a heartwarming everyday story about a woman and a "dog" she meets on a rainy day. The manga has sold over 500,000 copies. The newly drawn illustration features the character "You" visiting the animation studio, and Nikaidou commented, "I remember how kindly they guided me when I asked to visit the studio out of my own selfishness. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of animation it will become."

Story Synopsis:

One rainy day, a woman and a "dog" meet. On her way home, soaked to the bone, Fuji encounters a rather peculiar dog. The dog uses a flip board to ask, "Please take me in," and offers Fuji a folding umbrella. But this dog is more than just peculiar... It's an odd yet charming companion who shows up in the middle of her ordinary days. Together, they enjoy the changing seasons, eat, go on outings, and even have conversations (or something like that). A heartwarming tale of two probably close friends sharing a life together, filled with small yet precious moments.
