"2024 Next Manga Awards Announced: 'Kagurabachi' Wins the Comics Division, 'Girl Meets Rock!' Tops the Web Manga Division"
On the 28th, the winners of the 2024 "Next Manga Awards," a user-participation-based manga award, were announced. Among the 8,212 entries, the winners were chosen from the nominated works. In the Comics Division, Kagurabachi, currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, took the top spot, while in the Web Manga Division, Girl Meets Rock! (Futsuu no K-ON bu), serialized in Shonen Jump+, was crowned the winner.
This manga award, established in 2014 by Da Vinci and Nico Nico, is a user-participation-based manga award. It accepts entries from users for manga they believe are the "next big thing." From these entries, the most popular works are selected as nominees, and users then vote for the grand prize winner from the nominated works.
