"Dry Your Tears" was the first opening theme of the anime Yu-Gi-Oh! which aired in 1998. The anime, produced by a different company and aired on a different network compared to the currently airing Yu-Gi-Oh! series, is known as the "Toei version of Yu-Gi-Oh!" and has become a legendary work.

When this iconic song from 26 years ago was performed, the duelists in the audience erupted with excitement. Online, fans who couldn’t attend reacted as well, saying, "They sang the legendary Toei Yu-Gi-Oh! theme song Dry Your Tears! I wish I could have seen this live," and "Hearing Dry Your Tears live would’ve been amazing—no way! As a Yu-Gi-Oh! fan, hearing that song would have been a dream come true. Including the Toei version was insane."

Anisama started in 2005 with the Animelo Summer Live 2005 -THE BRIDGE- event and has grown into the world’s largest anime song event, attracting over 80,000 attendees over three days each year (including rescheduled events due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic).

This year's theme, marking the 19th event, is "Stargazer." A "Stargazer" is someone who gazes at the stars. The theme was inspired by last year’s finale performer, Masayoshi Oishi, who said during his MC, "A view that can only be seen at Anisama. A world that can only be created at Anisama." The event will be held over three days: the 30th, 31st, and September 1st.
