Its sequel, The New Prince of Tennis, has been serialized in Jump Square since 2009. The story follows the protagonist, Ryoma Echizen, and his growth alongside his teammates. The popular series was adapted into a TV anime on the TV Tokyo network starting in October 2001 and has since expanded into events, films, and more. The last The New Prince of Tennis TV anime aired in March 2012. After a 10-year hiatus, The New Prince of Tennis U-17 World Cup returned to television in 2022, continuing the story after the 2014 OVA series The New Prince of Tennis OVA vs Genius 10.
