Gundam at Expo 2025: Space Elevator to Orbit and Exclusive Crew Uniform Designs
Bandai Namco Holdings has unveiled exciting details for the GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION, set to debut at the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 starting April 13. The pavilion offers an immersive experience of humanity’s potential future in space, blending science, technology, and the iconic Gundam universe.
A Journey Through Space with Gundam
Visitors will embark on a simulated “space journey,” departing from the Spaceport at Yumeshima, Osaka. Aboard a space elevator, they will travel to Space Jaburo, a futuristic space station where humans coexist with mobile suits. This setting, rooted in a new “Universal Century,” features stunning visuals, including the appearance of the RX-78F00/E Gundam, equipped with its “Glass Feather” system.
The pavilion is divided into several phases (Phase 0 to Phase 7), offering engaging exhibits and a completely original audiovisual experience that imagines life in space and the scientific advancements yet to come.
Crew Uniform Design by The Witch from Mercury Artist
To enhance the immersion, pavilion staff will take on the role of “crew members” accompanying visitors on their space voyage. Their uniforms—featuring orange pants, caps, and unisex designs—come in long and short-sleeve variations, embodying a futuristic vision of space travel.
The uniform designs are the work of Mogumo, known for their character design work on Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury. An accompanying illustration showcases the stylish and functional attire.
Pavilion Entry and Reservations
Admission to the pavilion requires both an Expo 2025 ticket and a reservation through a lottery system, with applications opening on January 13, 2025. Key visuals of the entrance area (Phase 0) and the space elevator boarding area (Phase 1) were also revealed, teasing an exciting glimpse of what awaits.
