The newly revealed visual showcases Maomao in traditional New Year's attire, enjoying sake, and Jinshi leisurely eating ozoni. Both have humorous ○× marks drawn on their faces, hinting at their break after an intense hanetsuki (Japanese badminton) match. This festive illustration perfectly captures the New Year's spirit with kimono, hanetsuki, and traditional holiday foods.

Additionally, a mini voice drama has been released, revealing the outcome of their hanetsuki match.

About The Apothecary Diaries

Set in a medieval Eastern-inspired palace, The Apothecary Diaries follows a "poison taste-tester" girl who solves various mysteries within the royal court. Originating as a novel on the Shosetsuka ni Narou website in October 2011, the series was later published by Hero Bunko and adapted into manga serialized in Monthly Big Gangan and Monthly Sunday GX. With a total of 38 million copies sold across all formats, the first season aired from October 2023 to March 2024.

In the upcoming second season, the story escalates as Consort Gyokuyo's pregnancy is revealed, drawing Maomao and Jinshi into even more challenging cases. Amid rising tensions, Jinshi’s life comes under threat, while foreign caravans and special envoys bring further complications to the palace. Maomao and Jinshi’s new trials will soon evolve into a national crisis.
