Sanrio announced on January 9 that the stop-motion anime series My Melody & Kuromi will be exclusively available worldwide on Netflix starting this July. The series celebrates the 50th anniversary of My Melody and the 20th anniversary of Kuromi, promising an adventure-filled story set in their home, Mary Land.

With the theme "Together, we're even cuter," the anime aims to make their special anniversary year truly unforgettable. The teaser visuals and trailer, released ahead of the streaming launch, showcase an irresistibly adorable My Melody and Kuromi, capturing fans' hearts with a charming handcrafted aesthetic.

Directed by an Award-Winning Creator

The anime is directed by Tomoki Misato, a rising star who gained international recognition as a Young Guns 18 awardee and made waves with the movie PUI PUI Molcar.

Written by a Multitalented Scriptwriter

The script is penned by Shuko Nemoto, a highly acclaimed writer who has been a finalist for the Kishida Drama Award four times since 2016 and received the 25th Japan Media Arts Festival’s New Face Award in 2022. Nemoto has also worked on the Japanese script and direction for the Korean musical Wild Gray.
