No Advance Screenings, But a Fan-Focused Event
As with last year’s approach, no advance screenings were held in order to let all fans experience the movie without spoilers. Instead, this exclusive fan meeting served as the pre-release celebration.
The event began with Kogoro Mouri and voice actor Rikiya Koyama walking the red carpet set up among the audience. Koyama opened with Kogoro’s famous line, “This isn’t a game!” bringing cheers from fans as the rest of the cast joined him on stage.
Voice Actors Share Excitement and Unique Highlights
As the release draws near, Takayama admitted, “There’s so much information coming out that even I can’t keep up, but I feel everyone’s passion and voices. It’s overwhelming, but I’m doing my best!” She added with a laugh, “You won’t get everything in one viewing,” but assured fans that the film is enjoyable multiple times.
Yamazaki praised the fast pacing and said, “It was over before I knew it!” She highlighted the mature and cool vibe of the Nagano Prefectural Police and teased Ran’s action scenes: “It was a bit like Kamen Yaiba—so much fun!”
Koyama emphasized: “The highlight? Just watch me!” He urged fans not to miss this movie, as Kogoro hasn’t had a major role like this in 20 years: “This might be your only chance!”
Behind the Scenes and Personal Touches from the Cast
Takada shared his excitement: “I woke up two hours earlier than usual, and I've been feeling a good kind of nervousness all day.” Hayami noted the massive presence of Conan collaborations, even at convenience stores, and posters all over his agency.
Koshimizu revealed a favorite moment: “There’s this ‘adult’ vibe between Kansuke and Yui, and a scene where Kansuke’s normally perfect hair gets tousled in the wind—I loved that side view.”
Yamada expressed his awe at the franchise's popularity, and Yamashita, in her first anime voice role, said she was overwhelmed: “It was a huge pressure, but I practiced a lot. Seeing my voice matched with the footage earlier almost brought me to tears.”
The event concluded with the cast walking down the red carpet, facing the audience as golden streamers filled the venue. Together, they shouted the iconic line: “There is always only one truth!”
