Nezuko Kamado plays a pivotal role as the heroine of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. At the beginning of the story, her family is brutally murdered by demons, and she is the sole survivor—only to be transformed into a demon herself. However, unlike other demons, Nezuko retains her love for her brother Tanjiro and, through immense willpower, refrains from attacking humans. She becomes a rare kind of demon—one who fights to protect rather than harm.

During the day, Nezuko avoids sunlight by staying inside a special wooden box that Tanjiro carries on his back. At night or in sheltered areas, she emerges to accompany or assist him.
