“This is Miyamoto. Due to production circumstances, we are changing the worldwide release date of The Legend of Zelda live-action movie to May 7, 2027. While it’s slightly later than previously announced, we want to take the necessary time to ensure the film turns out great. We appreciate your patience.”

The movie is co-produced by Shigeru Miyamoto, Representative Fellow of Nintendo, and Avi Arad, the founder of Arad Productions Inc., known for producing numerous blockbuster films.
The film is being developed by Nintendo and Arad Productions Inc., and is directed by Wes Ball, known for The Maze Runner series. Over 50% of the production costs are being funded by Nintendo, with global distribution and co-financing handled by Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc.
