Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 Episode 13 Premieres on July 19; Synopsis and TikTok/Spotify Collaborations Revealed

Season 2 of the anime Kaiju No. 8 will premiere on July 19 on TV Tokyo and other networks, airing every Saturday at 11:00 p.m. JST. Ahead of the broadcast, the synopsis and scene cuts for Episode 13, titled “Kaiju Weapon,” have been released.

Additionally, the series has been selected as the first-ever Japanese anime to be featured in TikTok Spotlight. The second season of the Kaiju No. 8 podcast, titled Kaiju No. 8 Podcast: Neutralization Mission, will also stream on Spotify.

Episode 13 Synopsis

In Episode 13, the attack by Kaiju No. 10 devastates Tachikawa Base, plunging Japan into a new era of crisis. The fate of Kafka Hibino, who has been detained as Kaiju No. 8, remains unknown. Meanwhile, rookie members of the Third Division are reassigned to other units, beginning new missions in different locations. Kikoru Shinomiya, now assigned to the “strongest” First Division, goes to greet her new commanding officer, Gen Narumi.

The anime has been named the first Japanese work to join TikTok Spotlight. Gaining popularity overseas, Kaiju No. 8 has featured world-renowned artists—YUNGBLUD and OneRepublic for Season 1, and AURORA and OneRepublic for Season 2—drawing global attention. This new collaboration aims to showcase the power of Japanese anime to fans around the world.

To commemorate the Season 2 launch, the “Anime Kaiju No. 8 TikTok Grand Operation” campaign will be held on TikTok. During the campaign period, users in Japan, North America, and Southeast Asia can earn exclusive items like profile frames by participating in hashtag missions. In Japan and North America, a special search feature will also appear when users search for related keywords.

Additionally, the exclusive Kaiju No. 8 Podcast: Neutralization Mission on Spotify, airing Sundays at noon, will return for Season 2. Hosted by Katsuya Fukunishi, who voices Kafka Hibino/Kaiju No. 8, the first episode of the new season will feature Fairouz Ai (Kikoru Shinomiya) and Kōki Uchiyama (Gen Narumi) as guests. Episode 1 drops at noon on July 20.
