A massive sinkhole suddenly strikes Shinagawa. Emerging from the enormous cavity are countless gigantic ant-type kaiju. The First Division, which includes Kafka Hibino and Kikoru Shinomiya, is dispatched. Under the command of Gen Narumi, the squad swiftly carries out their mission. While Kikoru lives up to expectations by taking down kaiju one after another, Kafka—still under the watch of the Defense Force—also throws himself into battle, determined to prove his worth

The anime has been named the first Japanese work to join TikTok Spotlight. Gaining popularity overseas, Kaiju No. 8 has featured world-renowned artists—YUNGBLUD and OneRepublic for Season 1, and AURORA and OneRepublic for Season 2—drawing global attention.
