About Demon Slayer and Its Adaptations

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is based on the manga by Koyoharu Gotoge, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2016 to May 2020. Set in Japan’s Taisho era, the story follows Tanjiro Kamado, who joins the Demon Slayer Corps after his family is slaughtered by demons, seeking a cure for his sister Nezuko. The manga has surpassed 220 million copies in circulation worldwide and has been adapted into hit anime series and films.

From Mugen Train to Infinity Castle

The anime adaptation began with Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc in 2019, followed by the record-breaking film Mugen Train in 2020, which grossed around 51.7 billion yen globally. Subsequent arcs aired on television, including Entertainment District Arc (2021), Swordsmith Village Arc (2023), and Hashira Training Arc (2024). The latest film project, Infinity Castle Arc, is structured as a trilogy, with Part 1: Akaza Returns now screening in 452 theaters across Japan, including 59 IMAX venues, depicting the Demon Slayer Corps’ climactic battle against Muzan Kibutsuji and the Upper Rank demons.
