SPY×FAMILY Season 3 Begins: Loid’s Past Arc Premieres October 11 with New PV Featuring Spitz’s
The third season of the popular anime SPY×FAMILY has officially begun broadcasting. The long-awaited “Loid’s Past Arc,” which delves into the mysterious past of the protagonist Loid, will air on October 11 (Saturday) at 11:00 p.m. on the TV Tokyo network and other stations. Ahead of its broadcast, a new promotional video featuring the opening theme song “Hi o Mamoru,” written and performed by the rock band Spitz, has been released.

The upcoming arc marks a pivotal moment in the series, exploring the events that shaped Loid into the master spy known as “Twilight.” The new PV vividly depicts his childhood, haunted by the shadows of war, and offers a powerful glimpse into his emotional journey, heightening fans’ anticipation.

Spitz, composed of Masamune Kusano (vocals/guitar), Tetsuya Miwa (guitar), Akihiro Tamura (bass), and Tatsuo Sakiyama (drums), is a four-member rock band that has continued to create music and tour nationwide since its formation in 1987. In 2023, they released Himitsu Studio, their first album in three and a half years, followed by a 45-show national tour across 34 cities. In September 2025, they held a series of regular events across three cities, remaining highly active on the Japanese music scene.

Spitz
The original SPY×FAMILY manga, written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endo, began serialization in Shueisha’s manga app Shonen Jump+ in March 2019. With over 600 million page views and multiple manga awards to its name, the series has surpassed 38 million copies in circulation across 15 volumes as of October 2025.
The second season, which aired in October 2023, concluded to widespread acclaim. The subsequent theatrical release, SPY×FAMILY CODE: White, premiered in December 2023, earning 1.2 billion yen in its opening three days and reaching 6.32 billion yen in total box office revenue by August 25, 2025.
