Agents of the Four Seasons: Dance of Spring Episode 1 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Animated by WIT STUDIO of Attack on Titan and SPY×FAMILY fame

The story and preview images for Episode 1 of the TV anime Agents of the Four Seasons: Dance of Spring (JP: 春夏秋冬代行者 春の舞) have been revealed. This episode will air on Sunday, March 29 at 12:00 AM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms.

Episode 1 Story

A young girl, the deity of spring, gazes out the window.

Hinagiku Kayo, the Agent of Spring, resides on Ryugu, the southernmost island of Yamato. She is a lovely girl with luxurious amber hair that waves as if she were standing on the ocean floor, dressed in beautiful attire that blends Japanese and Western styles. Accompanying her is Sakura Himedaka , a spring guard who possesses a dignified beauty.

The island, originally famous as a tropical paradise, is currently blanketed in snow. Huddling together on a train, the two journey to perform a ritual to bring back the lost spring to this island.

"We are going to clear the snow," they say.

On their way to the ritual site, they meet a young girl named Nazuna.

"Um, you see, Hinagiku is going to... call for spring."

"What is spring?"

Having grown up in a land that has lacked spring for ten years, Nazuna does not know what the season is.

"I want to... protect... the children."

Upon learning of the feelings Nazuna carries, Hinagiku and Sakura become determined to bring spring to this land for her sake.

In this country where four living deities are responsible for the changing of the seasons, the ancient history of the Agents begins with these words:
In the beginning, there was Winter.

Introduction

"Agents of the Four Seasons." They are individuals bestowed with special powers by the gods of the four seasons, tasked with bringing the cycle of nature to the land.

However, for ten years since the disappearance of the Agent of Spring, Hinagiku Kayo, the season of spring has remained vanished from this country. For those ten years, the Guardian of Spring, Sakura Himedaka, searched desperately for her master. Then, one day, Hinagiku suddenly returns, and the gears of fate begin to turn.

The journey of Hinagiku and Sakura to deliver the spring begins:

To reclaim the precious time that was absurdly stolen from them.

To convey their feelings to the person they have yearned for.

For the sake of "you," whom they would protect even at the cost of their own lives.

This is a tale of loss and rebirth centered on the living deities who bring the seasons and their loyal guards. A story of prayer dedicated to those who, no matter how many times they are hurt, still wish to live.
