Kurea Howa Returns With Macarons, Leading to a Sudden Twist, Star Detective Precure! Episode 10 Story & Preview Cuts Released

The story and preview images for Episode 10 of the new TV anime Star Detective Precure! (JP: 名探偵プリキュア！), the 23rd installment in the long-running Precure franchise, have been revealed. The series is set to begin airing on April 5.

Episode 10 Story

A woman named Moe Saiki visits the Curett Detective Agency as a client. Her request is to investigate her mother’s self portrait.

In the photo Moe brings with her is a painting by Christina Pipopovich Fumie, an artist who was popular overseas about 30 years ago. Although her mother, Fumie, had only painted landscapes, Moe wants to know why she created a single self portrait.

Anna and the others visit bookstores and art classes in search of clues but are unable to find any leads. Along the way, they encounter Kurea Howa and visit Patisserie Chouchou.

Seeing the macarons that Kurea brings, Moe recalls the oddly shaped macarons her mother would sometimes bring back from overseas. Anna and Mikuru suggest that they might have actually been handmade. However, Moe says she has never once seen her mother baking them.

Believing that examining the actual painting might reveal a clue, Anna and the others decide to visit Moe’s apartment.

Introduction

Star Detective Precure introduces the first detective themed Precure storyline in the franchise and is set primarily in 1999. The protagonist Anna Akechi is a 14 year old second year middle school student living in Makoto Mirai Town. On her birthday, she encounters a fairy named Pochitan and is guided by a mysterious pendant found in her room, triggering a time slip from the year 2027 back to Makoto Mirai City in 1999.

There, Anna meets another 14 year old girl, Mikuru Kobayashi, who dreams of becoming a great detective. When a series of incidents begin to occur, the two girls find themselves unable to ignore people suffering from stolen treasured possessions. Together, they transform into the Star Detective Precure, solving mysteries with the catchphrase “That mystery will be cured” while protecting smiles through sharp deduction and searching for clues that may allow Anna to return to her original time.
