Yosuke Tamori, creator of Popolocrois Story, has passed away at the age of 74, as announced by the Japan Cartoonists Association on April 30. According to the association’s official website, Tamori passed away on April 10, 2026. He was 74 years old.

The statement read that Tamori, a member of the association, had died at the age of 74, and that his funeral had been held privately among family members. It also noted that, in accordance with his wishes, flowers, offerings, and condolence money were respectfully declined.

Career and Legacy of Yosuke Tamori

Yosuke Tamori was born in Tokyo in 1951. He made his debut in 1978 with Popolocrois Story. The work was serialized in the Asahi Elementary School Newspaper from 1981 to 1986 and later adapted into a video game, becoming a highly popular franchise.

In addition to Popolocrois Story, his other works include Tonari no Tetsuko, the Mucha no Nekomaru Game Book series, and the Mahou Neko Damon series.
