Girl with a Pearl Earring Returns to Japan After 14 Years

The Vermeer Exhibition will be held at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka, beginning August 21. Girl with a Pearl Earring will be displayed in Japan for the first time in 14 years, following the 2012 exhibition Mauritshuis: Dutch Paintings from the Royal Picture Gallery, which attracted approximately 1.2 million visitors and was organized by The Asahi Shimbun and other parties.

In addition to Girl with a Pearl Earring, the exhibition will feature Vermeer’s early work Diana and Her Nymphs, as well as masterpieces of Dutch painting from the same era.
