Hoshimachi Suisei Stuns Fans With 105 km/h Ceremonial First Pitch: “Is This Even Allowed?”

Hoshimachi Suisei appeared at a ceremonial first pitch held at ZOZO Marine Stadium in Japan on July 20 before a game between the Chiba Lotte Marines and the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. A video of the virtual idol’s appearance was posted on the official X account and quickly attracted attention online.

The game was sponsored by Lotte Co., Ltd., which organized a special first pitch ceremony featuring Hoshimachi Suisei and Hatsune Miku. Both stars appear in television commercials for Lotte’s Coolish and Soh ice cream brands.

During the ceremony, Hoshimachi Suisei and Hatsune Miku appeared on the stadium’s main screen. With Hatsune Miku cheering her on, Hoshimachi Suisei took to the mound.

Before delivering the first pitch, she declared, “I will do my best to throw a blazing fastball!!”

With all eyes on her, she delivered an impressive strike. The stadium radar gun recorded the pitch at 105 km/h. The ceremony also featured a special production linking the action on the mound with visuals displayed on the stadium’s main screen.

After footage of the pitch was released, surprised fans responded with comments including, “That pitch was so fast, it was hilarious,” “Great work! Everyone looked stunned by that blazing fastball,” “That was much faster than I expected,” “That fastball made me laugh,” “Is this even allowed?” and “That was incredible.”
